Delta Airlines unveiled the first of four renovated Sky Club lounges in Minneapolis-St Paul airport, part of the carrier's US$2 billion plans to enhance services on the ground as well as in the air.
The refurbished premier space at Minneapolis St Paul airport is located near the entrance of the F/G concourse and offers complimentary food and beverage, a workzone including free wifi internet access, desktop computers and printers and flight assistance. The other three lounges will open later this month at Atlanta International Airport, New York La Guardia airport and Philadelphia International Airport.
Atlanta's is found near gate B-10 on the B concourse. The nearly completed lounge at New York La Guardia is close to the exit of the security area while the second phase is scheduled for completion during the summer. The Philadelphia airport's lounge is located adjacent to the security exit in Terminal D.
This year, Delta plans to build another new Sky Club in Concourse D of Atlanta International Airport as well as complete the refurbishment of the club near Gate A-17. The carrier also plans to bring an additional Sky Club to Seattle.
Another arm of Delta’s enhancement plans include the introduction of fully flat seats in the BusinessElite cabin on transpacific routes (see story here).
Business Traveller is expecting photos of the refreshed facilities and will post them as soon as they are supplied .
