Taiwanese travellers will soon be allowed entry to the Republic of Ireland without a visa both for business and leisure.
From July 1, the country is waiving its visa requirement for Taiwan passport holders for stays of up to 90 days. The new rule will save Taiwanese citizens NT$2,700 (US$82) and NT$4,500 (US$137) for the cost of a single-entry and a multiple-entry visa respectively.
Ireland is the second European country to grant visa-free entry to Taiwanese visitors. The United Kingdom has stopped issuing visas to the island’s citizens in March this year for stays of up to six months.
Taiwanese travellers now enjoy visa-free entry to over 30 countries including Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
