Mövenpick Hanoi eyes business travellers

Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi is banking on its “homey” ambience to attract business travellers visiting the city, when the 154-room property opens its doors on December 1.
“Unlike any other hotel in the city, we have a very residential feel. Our hotel lacks the huge lobby some of the other hotels feature, which in turn creates an intimate and boutique feel for guests that look for personal attention and individuality,” said Knuth Kiefer, Mövenpick Hanoi general manager.
The hotel has a distinctive French architecture and is only five minutes’ walk from the city centre. Most rooms in the new hotel are non-smoking and are equipped with all the amenities including LCD flatscreen TV with cable and satellite channels, Wi-Fi internet access, IDD phones as well as coffee-and-tea-making facilities. It has four meeting rooms that can accommodate groups from 10 to 110 people.
What also sets apart the new property from its rivals is the availability of a ladies floor.
“Geared for female business travellers, these rooms on the third floor have a slightly different colour scheme and a portable make-up mirror to enable women to do their make-up sitting down at the desk close to daylight among others,” said Kiefer, adding that the ladies-only rooms are located on the same floor as the hotel’s Health and Wellness Studio “so that if female guests want to have a massage, they just need to cross the corridor rather than enter an elevator in their bathrobe”.
To mark the hotel's official opening, travellers to Hanoi can enjoy an opening package of US$159 for a minimum of two nights’ stay. The deal includes accommodation in a Superior Deluxe room, one-way airport transfer in a 5 series BMW and daily breakfast. It is valid until January 31, 2009.
