Qatar Airways's first new route for 2010 is a non-stop service between Doha and Bengaluru (Bangalore) using an Airbus A320. This increases its India capacity to 71 flights a week, touching down in 11 cities.
Flight QR226 departs Doha International Airport at 2100, arriving in Bengaluru at 0335. The return service, QE 227, leaves Bengaluru International Airport at 0435 and lands in Doha at 0640.
To mark the launch, the carrier is offering promotional rates. Depending on the country of origin, members of Qatar Airways Privilege Club can also earn up to 28,000 bonus Qmiles when they fly the Bengaluru route. Visit www.qmiles.com for more details on the offer.
Bengaluru, often dubbed as India's Silicon Valley, is also home to some of the country's most affluent colleges and research institutions with numerous public sector companies in the aerospace, telecommunications and defence industries.
This year, Qatar Airways will also be launching services to Ankara, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Barcelona and Sydney
