Qatar offers in-flight yoga

Feeling cramped in your Economy Class seat? The team at Qatar Airways believe they have found the solution to your problem – yoga.
Collaborating with The Chopra Center for Wellbeing and its co-founder, world-famous doctor and writer Deepak Chopra, the airline has produced a four-page booklet entitled Fly Healthy, Fly Fit.
The guide currently comes in English and Arabic versions and is available only on long-haul flights. It contains illustrations and descriptions of simple yoga routines, including self-massages, meditation techniques and stretching exercises, that passengers can do while in their seats. These exercises can help them feel more balanced and relaxed by improving blood circulation and reducing tension.
It is also hoped that passengers will use the guide to overcome jet lag and flight anxiety.
Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said: “We recognise the importance of air travel for today’s travellers, particularly frequent flyers, and how essential it is for them to remain healthy during long journeys.“
