Tourists will continue to enjoy waived visa fees till March 4, 2010 in a bid by the Thai government to revive tourism in the country.
The waiver applies to applicants of visas on arrival at all Thai international airports, as well as for applicants of longer-stay visas at overseas Thai embassies and consulates.
Visas on arrival are offered to citizens of 20 countries (click here for the countries listed) for stays in Thailand of up to 15 days, while the citizens of 42 other countries (click here) can stay in Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa.
Continuing its efforts to boost arrival figures, THAI Airways is offering a Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) redemption promotion for members on domestic and international routes in conjunction with the airline’s 49th anniversary.
ROP members can redeem a ticket for any seat class and get another free on return domestic and international flights between July 15 and September 30 for departure by September 30 and return by October 31.
Members also have the option of 50 percent redemption on a second ticket following purchase of a first ticket on international flights. This promotion is available until September 30 and departure must be made before September 30 and return by October 31.
