Thai raises fuel surcharges again

15 Jul 2009 by Ahmar Shah
THAI Airways will raise fuel surcharges on selected international routes from July 20, citing rising jet-fuel costs as the cause. Surcharge increases will range from US$3.50 to US$18.50, and affected services include THAI’s flights to Paris and London – where passengers were paying US$86.50 and will now pay US$90 – as well as flights to Australia, which will see the fuel surcharge rise from US$74.50 to US$83. Meanwhile, the domestic surcharge remains at THB455 (US$13.40) and the fuel surcharge on US flights continues to be US$104.50. This latest increase follows a previous one implemented barely a month ago that saw a US$10 rise in fuel surcharges to destinations in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
